Meet Dr. John Scott, DC
Dr. John Scott brings over 40 years of chiropractic expertise to Cherry Lane Chiropractic,, making him one of the most experienced practitioners in the Dallas metroplex. His path into chiropractic care started on the patient side of the table. After a motor vehicle accident, he began receiving chiropractic care and quickly saw how much the right support could change day to day life.
During one appointment, his chiropractor tapped him on the shoulder and suggested he consider the profession. At the time, Dr. Scott was enrolled in a prelaw program, but the experience of care, and the clear difference it made, shifted his direction.
Education and Decades of Experience
Dr. Scott completed his undergraduate studies at Wright State University near Dayton, Ohio, then earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Cleveland College of Chiropractic, now Cleveland University in Kansas City, Missouri.
He graduated in 1983 and has spent more than four decades supporting people through every stage of life. After interning in San Antonio, he opened a practice in Fort Worth in 1986, then launched his own clinic in 1990, where he has continued serving the community for decades.
Postgraduate Training That Supports Well-Rounded Care
Over the years, Dr. Scott has pursued additional training to broaden the ways he can help patients and tailor care to the person in front of him. His advanced credentials include a fellowship with the International Academy of Medical Acupuncturists, diplomate level training in BEST Technique, and a 100-hour postgraduate program focused on motor vehicle trauma.
He has also invested in ongoing education with well-known leaders in the profession, which has helped him stay well rounded in both technique and clinical decision making.
Dr. Scott’s goal is not simply short term relief, but helping patients build the habits and awareness that support long term well-being. “It’s what I love to do, love helping people.”
Life Outside The Clinic
When he’s not at the practice, Dr. Scott is happiest doing something active and often outdoors. He was an avid runner for decades, played recreational soccer until age 52, and later took up cycling. He is also a fourth-degree black belt in taekwondo with an honorary fifth degree. When he can, he steps away from the city to hunt, fish, and spend time RVing with his wife. He especially enjoys fly fishing, and he loves connecting with patients who share that same passion for the outdoors.
